I’ve personally designed, built, and published 12 iPhone apps. With each app I published, I learned a particular lesson about app development, product management, and marketing. These lessons define my experience and are the tip of the iceberg in terms of what Shakd.io can offer you.
When I founded Shakd.io, I wanted to build a different kind of software consulting firm—one that not only will write the lines of code you needs written, but will also advise you on product management, design, and marketing. You learn a thing or two about app development when you’ve published as many websites and apps as we have. Therefore, when a client has a feature idea for an app, if we think it’s a bad idea, we feel a moral responsibility to tell you our opinions. We aren’t afraid to hurt your feelings.
We want our clients to succeed and make a difference in the world. This statement is deeply embedded in our company culture. There is only one way to do things in our eyes, and that is the right way. If you show another developer the code we wrote, they won’t cringe—rather, he or she will respond with quite the opposite reaction. We care about writing quality code that can both scale and withstand growth.
Often times, clients bring us code from another consulting firm that is messy, disorganized, and unprofessional. This always disturbs me. Other than wanting our code and products to perform at or above industry standards, our code, designs, and finished products shape our reputation.
